Abstract
The study of the geographical analysis of secondary education
services in the district of Al-Musayyib (located within the governorate
of Babil) included middle, preparatory and secondary schools, their
spatial distribution, and their efficiency and adequacy, by relying on
educational, spatial and cadastral standards, as well as studying the
future need for the judiciary until the target year 2035.
The study adopted the official data for the academic year (2019/2020)
and used the field study to distribute questionnaire forms, which
numbered (1863) for students and others for directors, which numbered
(63), as well as field visits to most of these schools in order to
determine the reality of secondary education services in study area.
The study showed the inefficiency of the spatial distribution of
secondary education services, as the number of secondary, intermediate,
preparatory and secondary schools reached (72), including (9) closed
schools (7) in the Jurf al-Sakhr district and two schools in the
Alexandria district, and most of them are concentrated in urban areas
more than in the countryside The urban schools amounted to (50) schools,
while the rural schools were (22) schools, in addition to the failure
to observe the planning standards. When applying educational standards,
it was found that some administrative units suffer from a deficit in
(schools, teaching staff, and study divisions), while others have a
surplus. The general average of secondary schools reached (641
students/school) which is higher than the standard, and the general
average of secondary schools was ( 22 students/teachers), which is
higher than the standard, and the general average for secondary schools
(46 students/classes), which is higher than the standard. As for the
physical condition of school buildings, the number of buildings reached
(33), including (5) closed buildings due to the security situation In
that area, the number of good buildings reached (2) buildings, and those
that were valid to a limited degree amounted to (16) buildings, and
those that were not suitable were (10) buildings. As for the adequacy of
buildings, all middle schools were original, while the number of guest
schools in the district was (39) Out of (72) schools distributed in (25)
middle schools and (14) secondary schools, and in terms of the degree
of student satisfaction with services, most of them were weak, due to
neglect by the concerned authorities in educational institutions, but
they vary between one administrative unit and another according to the
provision of the service.
