الملخص: خرائط هي ليست فقط صنع الخارطة أو الطرق والأساليب التي يستخدمها الكارتوكرافيون في توصيف الظواهر الجغرافية. يمكن أن يوصف هذا العلم بأنه مرآة حقيقية يعكس التطور العلمي والتكنولجي للحضارات البشرية القائمة. أن التطور المعرفي الذي اكسبته البشرية أثر واضح في تحسين جودة ودقة رسم الخارطة. ولابد من تسليط الضوء على هذا التطور من خلال الاطلاع أهم الانجازات الحضارية على مختلف هذه الحضارت القديمة ولقؤيبة منها. أما عصرنا الحديث وأقصد به القرن العشرين والقرن الواحد والعشرين و ظهور أجهزة الكمبيوتر مما انعكس بشكل واضح عى دقة وسهولة مهمة إنجاز الخرائط . في هذه الدراسة اعتمدنا مصادر ومعلومات مهمة لنوضح أن الخارطة عاكس حقيقي للتطور المعرفي والتكنولوجي. ولابد من الخارطة لأنها العمق التاريخي للجغرافية. وأن نظم المعلومات الجغرافية (GIS) في الوقت الحاضر صفحة مهمة من تطور الخارطة وعلى الجغرافين إعطاء هذه المرحلة حقها والتمسك الجدي بها في البحث والتدريس.
The Historical Development of the Map and the most important contributions of GIS to the science of cartography

Abstract: Maps are more than just the tools and techniques used by cartographers to describe geographical occurrences. This science may be thought of as a true mirror that reflects the scientific and technical progress of human civilizations. Human cognitive progress has had a definite influence on enhancing the quality and accuracy of map drawing. It is crucial to shed light on this evolution by analyzing some of the most notable civilizational achievements of these numerous ancient civilizations. In terms of our modern era, I refer to the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, as well as the rise of computers, which was clearly reflected in the precision and convenience of generating maps. We relied on essential sources and information in this work to demonstrate that the map accurately reflects cognitive and technological growth. Because it is the historical depth of geography, it is vital to stick to and continue to learn to create the map. Geographical information systems (GIS) are now an essential aspect of map construction, and geographers must give this stage its due and adhere to it seriously in research and teachin.
